Regional Water Process Engineer

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program
  2. Minimum of (3) years related work experience in water treatment, chemical engineering, plumbing design, process engineering, commercial hydroponics
  3. Interested and able to achieve professional registration or licensure in regions of the US.
  4. Many state cannabis control programs require background checks. Therefore, if selected and in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations, all applicants must complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including criminal/civil background check and motor vehicle records search.

Work Environment

This position typically requires working in a remote office setting. The job can require up to 20% travel time for site visits, training, and trade shows. Site visits require working in a typical construction environment that presents some hazards described below. This position can present physical demands and requires sitting or standing for extended periods, reading and writing, sketching and drawing, walking and talking, hearing and listening, keyboard and mouse use, driving and traveling, reaching, stooping and crouching, bending and lifting, or carrying up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

  1. Process Engineer with a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering background leading water process design for cannabis cultivation projects in the US
  2. Working on piping and pump projects, piping isometrics, P&IDs, PFDs, pump analysis, piping analysis, specifications, equipment selection, etc.
  3. Provide technical guidance to the client and associated stakeholders
  4. Serve as a technical expert in water process and water management
  5. Support business development related to water process engineering
  6. Build business relationships with clients to understand them and their requirements
  7. Construction inspection and resolution of water process issues

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Water or Wastewater experience preferred
  2. Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  3. 3+ years in water system design, planning, and construction services
  4. Experience in a client-facing and business development role
  5. Engineer in Training (EIT)
  6. Professional Engineer’s license in OH or another US jurisdiction

Benefits

Full-Time Salary Plan: $55 – 95k USD (Depending on experience)

Project Engineer

Job Summary

Functions as a technical authority and independently develops and applies a systematic approach to solving unique process-related challenges for cannabis cultivators. May supervise design staff and stakeholders on projects or serve as a technical professional providing knowledge and expertise.

Responsibilities

ENGINEERING:

  • Proactively provides guidance and direction on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and Integrated Bioengineering policies
  • Assists in developing, maintaining, and updating design, engineering, and project management standards
  • Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for indoor cultivation projects
  • Performs research and develops process improvement and equipment selection
  • Oversees collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work
  • Prepares engineering calculations following standard methods and principles

Project MANAGEMENT:

  • Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on complex projects
  • Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines
  • Provide recommendations for sequencing and phasing to meet overall project objectives
  • Retain and organize all Project-related documents and information received
  • Develop and document Project Management Plans with recommendations for internal management of the projects.
  • Implement, maintain, and upgrade, as necessary, a web-based Project Management Information Management System to receive, distribute, and maintain Project Reports, Project Schedules, and other project-related information.

Client Focus:

  • Focuses on client’s current needs and situations
  • Provides support to business development or pursuit activities that may offer other services to the client

Continuous Improvement:

  • Provides guidance and direction to others and supports ongoing improvement efforts
  • Independently applies knowledge and develops Integrated Bioengineering’s project commissioning standards
  • Implements processes related solutions related to climate, water, and energy challenges
  • Reviews team members’ work, including client-developed programs, design drawings, contracts, technical articles, specialized guides, and other resources for cannabis growers

Knowledge MANAGEMENT AND Sharing:

  • Serves as a technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in the areas of climate, water, and energy processes
  • Actively advances knowledge management of the enterprise and provides mentoring
  • Is externally recognized in the industry as an expert, which enhances the Integrated Bioengineering brand
  • As a subject matter expert has additional expertise in a technical area, participates in professional societies by presenting papers, participates on technical committees, and assists with code/standard authoring

Qualifications

  2. Minimum of (4) years related work experience in HVAC, water treatment, chemical engineering, process engineering, energy efficiency, or project management
  3. Minimum of (2) years related work experience in cannabis cultivation or cannabis manufacturing
  4. Interested and able to achieve professional registration or licensure in regions of the US.
